4. Codes and Standards
The cables shall conform to the latest issue (including amendments) of the relevant IEC regulations including
harmonized documents (e.g. HD603) in particular with:
Israeli Law and Legal Regulations and Standards,
SI 1516-1 Israel Standard SI 1516 Part 1
IEC 60502-1 Power cables with extruded insulation and their accessories – Part 1 (1kV and 3kV)
IEC 60502-2 Power cables with extruded insulation and their accessories – Part 2 (6kV up to 30kV)
IEC 60332-1 Test for vertical flame propagation for a single insulated wire or cable
IEC 60332-3-24 Tests on electric cables under fire conditions – Part 3-24, Cat. C
IEC 60227 Polyvinyl chloride insulated cables of rated voltages up to and including 450/750 V
IEC 60245 Rubber insulated cables – Rated voltages up to and including 450/750 V
5. MV Power Cables, Single Core
Application: MV-cables will be used in three-phase 11,5kV (Um = 17,5kV) systems, 50Hz, low resistance
grounded system.
Reference Standard: According HD620-S2 based on IEC 60502-2

grounded system.

system with protective conductor (TNS) and as DC-cables (incl. excitation cables).

8. LV Control Cables
Application: LV control cables will be used in single-phase 230V (Um = 1,2kV) , 50Hz, grounded neutral
system with protective conductor (TNS); for secondary CT/VT-circuits and as DC cables.
Reference standard: HD603-S1 based on IEC 60502-1
Conductor:
- plain annealed copper wires for phase and neutral conductors with a minimum cross section of 1.5
mm²
- metering cables with a minimum cross section of 6mm² for CT’s and 4mm² for VT’s
- “concentric conductor” (PE) of copper wires and/or flat copper tape
- stranded copper conductors, round shape
Insulation: PVC or Cross-linked polyethylene XLPE
Bedding and outer sheath:
- PVC
- colour: black (acc. Israeli Standard SI 1516-1 for PVC insulated cores)
- colour: green (acc. Israeli Standard SI 1516-1 for XLPE insulated cores)
- resistance to ultra violet radiation
